Today marks the beginning of a new chapter – or as one of my best friends Cindy jokingly says… a new book!
As Spence and I fly to our first stop on our world adventure, to go skiing and sailing through the fjords of Norway, we feel oddly at peace. It was a mad dash to the finish line to check all of the boxes and ensure we had everything in order – the list felt endless! I never realized that not only do you have to make time for the logistics of travel, there’s a mental and emotional preparation for traveling as well. When you tell people you are going to travel the world for the next year or more, the emotional goodbyes are very different than when you say you’re taking a vacation – it’s almost as if they look half in disbelief and awe that you’re living a dream like this, and half sadness as if knowing that they’re saying goodbye forever… It’s been an emotional rollercoaster to say the least. But one of the most beautiful parts of saying the goodbyes has been in receiving all of the love and true adoration from everyone around us.
Thank you to everyone for the incredible kind hearted words, feelings, and actions in helping us to prepare as we embark on this trip has been overwhelming. And it’s been this kind of love and genuine excited support from everyone that has really helped us propel forward into the next journey of our lives. We cannot express enough how grateful we are to the strong support and foundation of our friends and family that has enabled us to really spring forth with open arms and an open heart. ❤ Thank you to each of you who have made this transition better than we could have ever asked for.
